Os artistas que não saíram das paradas das rádios, revistas de fofoca e do ouvido de quem gosta de música pop em 2011 e 2012 estão na lista de concorrentes do Video Music Awards, promovido pela MTV dos Estados Unidos. E emissora musical divulgou na manhã desta terça-feira (31/7) os nomes que concorrem ao prêmio máximo dos videoclipes. Rihanna e Drake lideram as indicações com 6 categorias cada. Logo em seguida vem Katy Perry, com quatro nomeações.
Além dos indicados, a MTV também divulgou duas das várias atrações musicais da cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios. A boyband inglesa One Direction e a musa do R&B Alicia Keys estão confirmados na atração, que será transmitida no dia 6 de setembro, no Staples Center, em Los Angeles.
